Hear it From Them

By attending the CLI training sessions, I learned how to write more focused grants, develop high impact sessions for my clients, and use public data sets to seek out and help victims of domestic abuse.

UofMed Ctr Grand Rounds Event 120811

The Community Leadership Institute is a six-week leadership development training program to build attendees’ research and leadership skills so that they can use them to improve or develop health programs in their communities.

Much of the curriculum is centered around the concept of Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), where community members work with scientists to shape each stage of the research process.

One two-hour session is held each week, covering everything from grant writing to building partnerships to creating programs.

You don’t have to be part of a formal organization to attend. The ITM welcomes everyone and has worked with community residents, faith leaders, students, volunteers, leaders of grassroots organizations, patients, and more.

Eligible applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
