The Essentials of Patient-Oriented Research (EPOR) gives you a crash course in how to conduct clinical trials at the University of Chicago, providing insider tips from senior investigators and the technical knowledge of how create and execute a successful study. Participants also get the benefit of learning from NIH educational materials and national video sessions thanks to the ITM’s membership in the NIH’s Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) consortium.

Courses are free and open to everyone, ranging from trainees to nurses to investigators, each Fall, Winter and Spring. Registration for the Winter series is now open. Classes are Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., except for the first session on Monday, Jan. 12, which will begin at 5:15 p.m.

Participants are eligible to receive a certificate of completion if they attend eight of the 10 sessions. Monday, Jan. 25, is the last day attendees can sign up and still be eligible for a certificate.
